tony gonzalez-3-831x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born on February 27, 1976. He is an American football tight end. He played 17 seasons with the National Football League. Gonzalez is considered one of the most important tight ends in the history of football. He holds the NFL's record in receiving yards as well as receptions as a tightener. Furthermore, he ranks third in total receptions. Gonzalez's first 12 seasons spent with the Kansas City Chiefs. In 1997, he received a selection as the 1st pick. Also, he played with the Atlanta Falcons for five of his final seasons. Since retiring in 2013 Gonzalez has served as an NFL analyst for NFL on Prime Video and was previously with CBS Sports and Fox Sports.Gonzalez was a career-high fourteen Pro Bowl selections, the most for a tight end and second in the history of the league and also received six first-team All-Pros. Gonzalez was known for his toughness and ability to not fumble. He appeared in 270 of 272 regular-season games and he only made two fumbles with 1,327 touches. Gonzalez was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the year 2019.
